Paige Nielsen-Mayer, MSN, FNP-C,CNM, (the primary care provider formerly known as Paige Corbett) has been in the field of medicine for 35 years. Throughout these years she worked her way up the medical ladder in various roles. She has experience as a surgical technician/assistant, pediatric medical assistant, Registered Nurse and currently enjoys her role as a dually board-certified advanced practice nurse. She is currently a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife.

Although these varying roles were pivotal points in her medical career, full of invaluable lessons, the most formative experience was being raised in an “old school” medical family. Paige’s father was a medical doctor in Alaska, and she was raised on old school medical mantras and values that carved her path as a clinician. In the 1970’s her father would take her to perform patient rounds in the hospital every weekend where he demonstrated the most effective clinical skill she would ever learn. This skill is based on the words of Edward Livingston Trudeau, “To cure SOMETIMES, to relieve OFTEN, TO COMFORT ALWAYS.”

Paige has a true passion for medicine and helping people. She is comfortable seeing patients of all ages, and as a Family Nurse Practitioner, she does not pretend to be a physician, however she takes pride in being an astute clinician who knows her boundaries well. Patient advocacy is at the heart of her practice and while she does not always have the clinical answers or cure to a complex diagnosis, she will navigate the journey alongside her patient while accessing the expert specialists. Paige’s patients often remark at how well she connects with them, how well she listens, and how they feel “safe” in her care.

Paige’s hobbies include being a Momma to a large, blended family, she has raised kids who are now “launched” while having three currently in the middle school and high school years. Travel is her current hobby while juggling her season of child rearing and active medical practice at Center Pointe Family Medical Group.
